I was looking at monsters websight and they have the new game cables for the ps3.The hdmi is$99.99 and the fiber optic is $29.99 thats like $130 for cables.Are they worth it?Is there cables that are cheaper that are as good? Monster has a long history of doing this. Monster sold speaker cables marked with the speaker and amp ends. Monster said connecting the speaker end to the amp would subvert sound. And so many actually could 'hear' the difference. Then Monster sold these $7 speaker wires for $70. Monster has a long history of identifying scams. simple answer-NO "high end" cable are not worth the money. I have found Monster to be amoung the biggest rip-off of all cable makers. your paying for the hype about their products and not the products themselfs. online retailers such a pacific cables is a great choice for high end cables at super low prices. they tend to beat Monster by at leat 50% on most stuff. Most of my cables are DH Labs, which is a respected budget higher-end cable. AR makes some very good budget cables and they're not anywhere near as expensive as Monster. You primary guitar cables are always worth spending some extra money. There are several really good manufacturers out there and TONS of crap. Cheap cables are extremely inexpensive so a lot of manufacturers, even the "high quality" ones, are guilty of overcharging the product. In general, look at the connector of the cable.
